Two Momma's and a Jet Ski =

A WHOLE LOT OF LAUGHS!

Momma D and I on the 4th of July took the jet ski to the "potty" on shore. I have never been on one and honestly never really gave much thought to trying it out. However when I saw her blonde head perched above the lifejacket and smiling HUGE I just had to say ...."Can I go with you?" of course she said "FOR SURE!" I climbed on and away we went.

We got the down wave from the cops a couple of times to slow down our ride heading into shore. I'm convinced they just wanted a better look at the two girls on the jet ski, lmao.

We arrived at the launch without incident. We took turns babysitting while the other went to the porta john. A couple of boats came and went, I was comming out of the potty when a guy says to me in his drunken slur "There is TOTALLY something HOT about two chicks on a jet ski!" I laughed and thanked him for the compliment and climbed back aboard the ski.

We were wave crashing across Torch lake as we were headed back to the boat. I was giggling and squealing, she kept asking me "are you holding on?" lol, of course I was!!! We hit a good wave that spewed water all over us, Momma D slowed down to wipe her face so she could see better. She leaned to the left when doing it, we began to tip. I slid to the right trying to balance us out....to late! SPLASH! into the water we went.

I heard it said that Torch lake is one of the top 3 most beautiful lakes in the world and I readily agree, however it is as cold as Lake Superior! I have also heard it told that Lake Superiour feeds this lake with underground channels so it would tend to make sense, not to mention it probably the deepest inland lake that I know of!

So anyway, the water is FREEZING us out. We tried to climb back on but there was no where to hold onto the dumb thing! We were laughing at each others attempts to get back on and decided to swim to shore or at least where we could touch bottom to get a bit more leverage.

We were swimming away, seemingly getting nowwhere when I see her waving her arms like a mad woman. I asked her "what are you doing?" to which she replied with a giggle "waving down cute boys to help us tow this thing to shore". We laughed again.

These really sweet (young) men came over on their jet skis and asked what the trouble was. We told them and then Steve (the one that did all the work while his friend circle us) suggested climbing onto his and then stepping onto ours. He had places to grab and a place to stand on the back of his. Momma climbed right up and onto his with the most graceful movements, she slid onto the seat and with a twinkle in her eye that said "Woohoo, look at me!" slid right to the front of the ski and right OFF head first back into the water! I laughed so hard I cried.

We decided that our drunk asses really needed to be into shore, so he took the tow rope and tied it to the clip at the back of his and then said "somebody needs to steer that one while I'm towing it" Momma said "Not me I am done going into the water, I have been dunked enough right now!" So I climbed up on the back and onto the seat. I slid right into Steve! If he hadn't been there to catch me I surely would have slid right off too, of course not with so much grace as Momma did it with her I meant to do that attitude!

We got to shore and headed back to the boat. We were only about 15 feet away when Joe came to grab the ski and help us in, or so we thought. He tipped us over and into the lake we went again!!!! Nobody on the boat had a clue about what had happened out off the sandbar of course.
I don't know about her but I still shiver remembering that ride, lmao. I so want to buy one now! What a laugh riot! I love my Momma more then words can say..as it was said "you find out who your friends are", I have been reminded alot over the past year, I never knew that I had so many that were willing to give to me, stand with me and by me, but best of all Laugh through the tears and pain. The song by Billy Joel "You may be right" comes to mind now:)

  1. Portapotties, ick! We once rented a jet ski and it was honestly the most fun I've had on the lake. Although in our case, we peed IN the lake. Apparently that's standard practice but ewwww.
